Lonnie G.Johnson was born october 6 1949, in mobile, Alabama.
His father was a civilian driver at local Air Force base, his mother was a homemaker and sometimes laundry worker or nurse's aid; married with children.He went to school at Tuskegee University, B.S., mechanical engineering, 1973, M.S., nuclear engineering, 1976.
In 1989, Johnson formed his own engineering firm and licensed his most famous invention, the super soaker water gun, to Larami Corporation. Two years later, the Super Soaker generated over $200 million in retail sales, and became the number one selling toy in Amernie G.Johnson.
